Tuhkis etsii kotia joko yhdessä kaverinsa Sollin kanssa, toisen itsenäisen kissan kaverina tai ainoana kissana. Solli ja Tuhkis tulevat keskenään toimeen ihan hyvin, mutta eivät ole todella tiivisti laumautuneet. He viettävät harvoin aikaa yhdessä ja silloinkin nuo hetket ovat lyhyitä. Koska heillä on erilaiset tarpeet, he saattaisivat tulla toimeen myös eri kodeissa. Joten myös yhden harkitseminen adoptoitavaksi sopii.

Tuhkiksen kaveri Solli etsiikin kotia, jossa on myös hyvin sosiaalinen kissakaveri odottamassa pesuhetkien hänelle antamista – Tuhkis voi mielellään lähteä mukaan kolmanneksi, tai sitten hänelle voisi sopia kissakaveriksi itsenäisempi toinen kissa. Koska Tuhkis on niin itsenäinen ja todella ihmissosiaalinen, myös ainoaksi kissaksi lähteminen voisi sopia tälle. Talouden ihmisten puolesta täydellisessä kodissa olisi useampi ihminen (esim. lapsiperhe) tai sitten kodin ihmisillä olisi paljon aikaa viettää Sollin kanssa (eläkeläiset tai muuten paljon kotona aikaa viettävät ihmiset).

Tuhkis on todella ihmisläheinen, rakastaa läheisyytä, leluilla leikkimistä, ihmisen lähellä hengailua ja sylissä olemista. Jopa maharapset ovat tervetulleita!

Tuhkis ei raavi huonekaluja, eikä ihmisiä. Hiekkalaatikon käyttö sujuu hyvin. Kun illan leikki- ja ruokahetki on ohi, yö nukutaan rauhassa ja ainakaan valvovan silmän alla Tuhkis ei hypi ei-sallituille paikoille…

Terveys on kunnossa, sillä jokavuotiset vahvistusrokotukset on saatu eläinlääkärissä ja Tuhkis on leikattu jo nuorena.

Tuhkis on itsenäinen kissa, mutta silti pitää myös läheisyydestä. Hän pitää rutiineista ja ilmoittaa sinulle  milloin haluaa rapsutuksia tai leikkimistä, siten että tulee tuijottamaan sinua intensiivisesti.
Päiväunten lomassa hän tarvitsee aktivointia päiviinsä. Hän tykkää vierailijoista ja tulee heti esittäytymään. Kun tulet kotiin, hän on ovella tervehtimässä. Hän rakastaa kun kotiin tulee paketteja, ja on oitis tutkimassa ja haistelemassa niiden sisältöä. Kaikenlaiset laatikot ovat ihan parhaita.
Mieluinen aktiviteetti päivisin on ulkomaailman tarkkailu ikkunan äärellä. Hän saattaisi pitää  ulkotarhasta tai jopa valjaissa kävelystä, mutta toistaiseksi vielä ulosmeno tuntuu vähän pelottavalta, joten sen pitää tapahtua hänen omassa tahdissaan.

Nokosia hän mieluiten nukkuu jossain korkealla, joten suurehko kissapuu pehmeällä pedillä olisi loistava tähän tarkoitukseen. Tuhkis tykkää kovasti jos välillä käyt häntä moikkaamassa kesken unien,  silloin hän ottaa mielellään vastaan muutamat vatsarapsutukset ja jatkaa sitten uniaan. Tuhkiksella on usein kieli ulkona suusta.  Syntymäpäivä 18.7.2017.

TUHKIKSELLE MIELUISIA ASIOITA:
Tykkää leikkiä leluilla joita voi jahdata ja pyydystää. Temppujen tekeminen herkkupalkalla ja herkkuraksujen pyydystäminen on erityisen hauskaa, koska ne voi sitten syödä ! Aktivointilelut, joissa on herkkuraksuja, ovat hänelle usein helppo nakki ratkaistavaksi.
Kun on hellittelyn aika, Tuhkis tykkää niskan rapsutuksesta ja hellästä vatsan silityksestä. Ennen nukkumaanmenoa Tuhkis mielellään makoilee  ihmisen rinnan/ vatsan päällä ja kehrää sekä leipoo tassuillaan.

Rakastaa vastapestyä pyykkiä, ja ryömii mieluusti puhtaiden vuodevaatteiden alle torkkumaan. Kun peset hänen lempipetinsä, hän nauttii makoilla siinä.
Tämä hassu otus rakastaa metalli-esineitä, ja saattaa pureskella vaikka lusikkaa jos tarjoat sitä hänelle.
Tuhkis tykkää jakaa kanssasi makuuhuoneen, ja esim. oma paikka petissä jalkopäässä on  lempipaikka. Hän nukkuu läpi yön kunhan saa kunnolla aktiivista  leikitystä ennen iltapalaa.

HYVÄ OTTAA HUOMIOON:
Tuhkis tykkää syödä ruokaansa vähitellen, saattaa välillä mennä muualle ja jatkaa sitten myöhemmin. Kuivaraksut ovat hänelle mieleisintä, joten riittävä vedensaanti on hyvä varmistaa.
Hänen turkkinsa on paksu mutta karva on hienojakoista, joten säännöllinen harjaaminen on tarpeen jotta voidaan välttää ”karvapallojen” nieleminen kissan nuollessa turkkiaan.  ”Karvapallojen” muodostumista ehkäisevä ruoka ja herkkuraksut auttavat tähän.
Tuhkis on menettänyt joitakin hampaita ientulehduksen takia, joten ne olisi harjattava päivittäin. Hän kyllä sallii tämän herkkupalojen vastineeksi. Mieluisinta ovat herkut joita ei tarvitse pureskella.

Tuhkis pelkää häkissä oloa sekä autolla matkustamista.  Eläinlääkäriltä saa rauhoittavaa lääkettä jos häntä joudutaan johonkin kopassa kuljettamaan.
Tuhkis ei ole kiinnostunut muista eläimistä, eikä juurikaan välitä hellyyden-osoituksista muiden kissojen kanssa.  Liian energiset koirat ovat pelottavia. Mutta hän on herrasmies ja sietää kyllä muita ”hyvin käyttäytyviä” eläimiä jotka eivät tunge liian lähelle.

Tuhkis is looking for his forever home either with his friend Solli, with another indendent cat, or as the only cat. Solli and Tuhkis do get along, but do not spend a lot of time together. Because they have different needs, they can also be adopted separately.

Because of this Tuhkis’ friend Solli is looking for a home that has another social cat-friend to give him cuddles. Tuhkis would gladly join as the third cat, or he might also be paired with a more independent cat-friend. Because Tuhkis is so independent and social with people, he might also move to his new home as the only cat. As for the humans, he does need plenty of company. The perfect home for him might be a bigger family with children, or someone who is retired, or people who otherwise spend plenty of time home.

Tuhkis is very well behaved and does not scratch people or furniture. He always uses the litter. He sleeps through the night after playing and eating dinner. He doesn’t jump where he is not allowed. Not when I’m looking, at least…

He has good health. He has visited the vet for check-ups and vaccinations every year. He was castrated as a kitten.

Tuhkis is an independent yet affectionate cat. He likes routines, and will let you know when it is time to cuddle or play by showing up and watching you intently.

Between naps, he likes a little bit of activity and stimulation in his day. He loves to meet visitors, and will introduce himself right away. When you come home, he will greet you at the door almost every day. He loves when packages arrive, and wants to see and smell all the new things inside. The boxes are fun to explore too!

Watching the world from a window is a daily activity. He seems to be interested in exploring, so he might like a catio, and maybe to go for walks eventually. Going outside is still a little scary, so he will prefer to take it at his own pace.

During nap time, he loves to sleep somewhere up high, so a tall tree with a soft bed is preferred. He enjoys when you visit him during naps, and will stretch out for some belly-rubs before rolling back over to sleep some more.

You’ll see him with his tongue out often!

Birthday: 2017–07–18

Favorite things
Loves to play with toys that he can chase and catch.  Doing tricks for treats, and chasing thrown treats is especially fun, because he can eat it too! Puzzles with treats inside are also interesting, and he always seems to figure them out.

When it is time for cuddles, he loves neck-scritches and gentle belly-rubs. His favorite way to cuddle before bed is laying on your chest to purr and knead.

Loves freshly cleaned laundry, and will burrow under clean bedsheets for naps. When you wash his favorite beds, he will fall in love with them all over again.

Loves metal things. This weirdo will purr and rub things like spoons if you hold them out to him. I do not know why.

He wants to share the bedroom at night sometimes, so a comfy place to sleep at the foot of the bed would make him happy. He will sleep through the night after a good play session before dinner.

Considerations
Prefers meals he can walk away from, then return to later. Loves dry food the most, so make sure he gets enough water.

His coat is very thick and the fur is very fine, so he also needs regular brushing to prevent hairballs. Anti-hairball food and treats also help. This is enough to make sure you’ll never see any hairballs!

He has lost some teeth to gingivitis, so you must brush his teeth daily. He tolerates this in exchange for treats. He prefers food he doesn’t need to chew.

He is very afraid of being in cars and cages. The vet can give medicine (neurontin) that helps him stay calm if he needs to be transported somewhere like this.

Tuhkis is not interested in other animals. He does not want to cuddle or groom with other cats much, and is afraid of dogs that are too energetic. But he is a gentleman and will live happily alongside other polite animals.
